Got let off the leash so I beat it out to Montezuma road and camped last night. Not bad; 40's in the day and upper teens at night. One peculiar incident during the night that will probably keep me from camping in that spot again. Went on up to Montezuma at daylight. I have heard the residents here will come out and throw rocks at you if you race down their street. I keep it slow, as I don't want to be involved in a 'race related incident'.

you enjoy being crazy dont ya?
nice pics, just not for me--lol

And welcome to Tnet, Emmit. My family's from Little Dixie. I'm in Colorado now. Olegoat would be out there in his long handles. Just wait; I'm gonna hit that camping in the real winter months too.

Looks like a 'relaxing trip'.

Fossis............

Hee, hee. They're kind of their own country aren't they ? Have ya ever taken that road over to Breckenridge and stayed in that cabin that kind of overlooks it ? I forget the name of the cabin but folks could stay and always brought up something to leave for whoever might need what ever.

Wonderful looking country there but a little too chilly for for me for camping. I don't take the cold as well
as I used to. LOL It is almost daylight here and see about an inch of snow on the ground and it's snowing
pretty steady. It's coming straight with no wind, so that makes for pretty viewing. We were up in northern
Michigan yesterday visiting Karen's sister and it was snowing a little when we headed home but soon drove
out of it. Now I just noticed, looking out the other direction, our squirrel feeder with a flat roof over it has
almost 2 inches on it.
Thanks for sharing your camping trip, I enjoy the view.

You're a real Grizzly Adams type of guy! I see there's no TV!!! most people would not have made it through the night! :laughing7: :laughing7:. Good for you tough guy. I bet you make a great cup of coffee in the morning too!

No TV. No radio. I do like to sit by the fire at night and read though. I always camped growin up, and certain circumstances forced me to live in the outdoors for about 5 or 6 years. (Wasn't jobless, just houseless) I like primitive camping, but Maria don't go for it. It has to be summertime, and she has to have the tent. And the air mattress. My goal is to primitive camp (no tent) in every month here in the Summit County area in Colorado. I got Dec., Jan., Feb., and Mar. to go. And I have the coffee pot, but I prefer that Earl Grey tea in the winter. No alcohol. Much as I like it, alcohol can get you dead real quick up here in the winter time. Leave it at the house.

Wow I really love these pics ! They are great! Looks like a beautiful trip ! :icon_sunny:

Your killing me here. Maggie and I would hike up and camp just like that.
Really nice my friend.

Just what a healthy soul needs.

I'm curious about the peculiar incident that will keep you from camping in that particular spot again. Very nice pics.

Well Rookie2, I never sleep real sound out in the woods. My top blanket got pulled off real hard and I woke up. I thought I did it, so fixed it back and dozed back off. Then it happened again. This was aggravating, so I just sat up and said 'cut that crap out!' There's nobody around and the woods were all quiet. Nothin else happened after that. I was never really scared as I fit the profile of what the press afterwards calls 'the heavily armed suspect'. (Some strange things wander up out of the woods here sometimes) I don't particularly believe in ghosts and have never been troubled by spooks before, but even I found this a little peculiar. I have seen and heard a lot of strange things in the outdoors, but they always have a logical explanation. I think this might be what the head doctors call a 'waking dream'. If so, it was pretty good, but don't believe I care for another for awhile.

That is strange. Head Dr's. may call them waking dreams but people who work in the field of sleep medicine call them hypnagogic hallucinations . That does not sound like what you experienced though because when you woke your blanket really was pulled off of you. Very interesting story nonetheless and as always superb pics

My type of camping, lean too, fire and a gallon bucket for coffee, cast iron skillet and lots of hard wood. Love smelling that smoke.
Over70 years ago I spent most of my time in the woods at my camp site which I kept secret. My leantoo was a thatched pine straw roof, and I made myself a bed with pine straw and feed sacks. I wasn't homeless, that was it. I ran away from my foster parents at 12 and I was thankful they never missed me. G'Day, Gnewt

RGINN, That is beautiful country, and the camp site was special. I can see why some poltergiest would resent you invading his site.
Maybe that is why it was snatching the cover off you. Gnewt :munky2:
