Can anyone help identify this? Dug on an early colonial to victorian era site. It's thin brass. Looks like a hinge of some sort. Has small holes where small brass nails may have been? Thanks

Looks like one of the eyes that held the trunk tie down straps on the back of a carriage?

Anyone know what this could be? It’s thin brass, and appears to have been stamped out when made. I dug it on a colonial to Victorian era field.
At first I was thinking it could be half of a scabbard tip, but not sure. Any ideas?

It’s just really hard to know, it could be a piece of so many things.
