They make the sound when air is blown through them.

IF you look Close there may be Music Letters on them like A or C etc.

The button is the front shell of a U.S. Army "Great Seal" general service button. c. 1902-present.

The thing next to it in the top pic appears to be some sort of adjustment key.

I agree with Jeff about the other three items. Probably late 19th or early 20th century.

the Arrow points to the actual reed.

and if they are lettered it's probably where I circled

Thanks for the replies, I thought that was a clock winder, wonder why I have found so many of these reeds in my yard?

So there is no way to tell how old the button is? I knew it was not real old, the old ones are one piece with an eyelet or shank.

Have any History of your Home ? or the land it's on ?

Church, School, Site of Medicine shows or Circus in past ?

maby Church Organist lived there, or just someone who Owned one.

There would have been ALOT of reeds in it & of course they needed
replacing with Tuning.

Jeff, I have a church(1820's) 3 houses to the right of me. Funny thing is I have found them at all 5 places that I detect. But ya know, I am in the bible belt.

Thanks again, that is really cool.
