You can try it where your going and might not have a problem. But most VLF detectors don't work well in either the wet sand or saltwater. Toss in a little black sand and you may as well turn it off or stay on the dry sand.

Sandmans right. Try it an see, but dont expect much performace.
In the dry sand all the way to the wet, crank er up. Down at the waterline, try the black sand mode and see what happens. If you feel up to it, you can GB the CIII through the trimmer inside.
But, be careful of that detector around the water. One dunk and its curtains. Seal it with several layers of plastic and duct tape - and dont raise the coil above the housing, lest salt water runs down on into places its best kept out of.

BTW, if you wish to consider selling that C3, give me chance to make an offer, okay?

sorry dahut, but the classic III is NOT 4 sale. i've grown quite attatched to it. i bought an M6 so i could take a friend hunting with me. i thought i would use the M6 & let my friend use the classic III. turns out i know what my C III is telling me. im in tune with it. the M6 is a little too chattery for me.
