Nice finds mattysee.

Nice finds! I see your from the albany area? I am also from Albany, but I am currently living in Lake George for the summer. If your interested in doing a hunt, then let me know. Thanks!

Hey coryg, I live right near Lake George and have been looking for a digging partner. I have the summer off so Im pretty much available all the time. Let me know if you're interested...Josh

Nicest shoe buckle I've ever seen! Hope you return & find the rest of it! :hello2: :occasion18: :headbang: Are the pesky bugs mosquitoes or are they the teeny-tiny black flies of the Northeast that insisted on getting in my eyeballs when I lived on Lake Champlain years ago? hmm, now that I recall their persistence, I'm happier here 3000 miles away with the poison oak, ticks & pumas of coastal CA, lol. HAVE FUN! Andi

cool finds. love the shoe buckle even though broken. too bad you had to leave early. man I hate bugs

Very cool shoe buckle.... The silver ones don't turn up too often. Very ornate design on that one. Get back there and find the other half!! :laughing7:

Wow that must have been a cool place to detect at finding all that cool stuff and that buckle too. Congrats!

thanx I found all that in no more than a 20'x20' area, and I basicly sifted a 3' round area looking for the other part of that buckle! lol its a home site with no cellar hole along a rock wall, just found it by map overlay 1866, im sure the site goes back to the eary 1700s, last year I found a 1828 bust half less than a 1/4 mile away along the same rock wall, its a good area

A beautiful shoe buckle piece, and yes looks like some rifle parts. Not certain about the butt plate, but could be a hammer there and Definitely a ramrod channel in your photo.

Regards,

Buck
