🔎 UNIDENTIFIED Can you identify this brass "hook"?

This relic was unearthed at a 1920 permission. Appears to be solid brass with a "joint" around midway. It is threaded on the top. Not sure if it is decorative, a farm implement or just what it is. Any help on the ID is much appreciated.

Looks like possibly some type of gas fitting. Maybe supplying LP to a burner, via a regulator. 🤷‍♂️

Do you mean "solid" as in "not hollow"? If it's hollow I'd guess gas fitting, but that's just a guess. If it's solid (not hollow) then I don't know.

yes, solid as in not hollow. the only open portion is at the top where the threads allow it to be screwed onto to something. the rest is completely solid

The interesting part to me is that the hex part appears to be tapered.
