I see cannelure grooves. Is that bullet copper jacketed? Copper jackets go back about 120 yrs. Cannelure grooves go back further.
 

I'm not aware of cannelure grooves on anything but a copper jacketed bullet.
 

The flattened tip and core are lead but I'll bet the cylindrical sides are a copper jacket over the core lead. A little scratch will tell. It's a big caliber, maybe .45, comparing it to your finger but looks long enough to be for a rifle rather than a pistol.
