Canadian Pennies

I have at least $50 dollars face value in pre 1970s canadian pennies but I dont know where to take them to cash them in in NY. Anyone have any ideas? I was thinking of melting them and selling them for scrap price but I dont even know if that is legal? Any Ideas?

I would look hard for those old penny gum machines and dump em there

Man you are in New York state.... No matter were you are in N.Y. you are close to the Canada border......... Cross over and go to a canada bank.......I live in Ohio and am only 3 hours from the canada border ....And i go up there all the time... So you have no problem as i see it.............
