Hello all. I have organized a deal with someone on kijiji (the Canadian Craigslist) to buy 80 Canadian silver 50 cent pieces which are 80% silver each. They currently have a melt value of $9.48 but we have agreed on $6.25 for each coin. This looks like a great deal but I am planing on re-selling most of theses to turn a profit, is this a good idea, great idea, and what will dealers typically pay for coins like these.
Also an update for those of you who have read my post about the dateless buffalo nickel. So far the date is 192?
Thanks

Meet inside a McDonald's or Tim Horten -you don't want to get your a$$ jacked at home or in a Becker's parking lot.

'Bell' test the coins (bring a real one with you, counterfits sound a little different)

Bring a magnifying glass to make sure the detail is SHARP (fakes lack crisp detail)

If in doubt -DON'T BUY 'EM!

Keep yourself safe from on line predators, although the deal sounds reasonable.

My only question is why doesn't he sell them to a dealer himself?

Like others have said, make sure you meet in a public place so you don't put yourself in danger.

That is a great price I buy these often when I can get a good price on them Im also working on my Edward VII and Queen Victoria key date halves You might offer them up on this site also?

i think alot of people just don't know where to go for a reputeable dealer or think they don't have enough quantity.

They try a pawn shop and the person generally offers 50% value on the first bite and if they don't negotiate well then selling them for 6.25 is a pretty good out for them.

In turn if they are real you should get about 85-93% melt if you have a good place to sell. Apmex, CNI, etc.
