CANE TOP?

went to a small town near me today. Across the street was a plaque about the founders log cabin site there in 1833.

found this, no markings, didn't test as silver

not a speck of rust, but inside it looks like copper under a couple of scratches

for a cane?

No clue...but a cool find.
I am trying to picture that as the top of a cane, seems it would be small and uncomfortable, grip wise. Perhaps it's something else..what's the design? Dragons?

I have a cheap samurai sword set and those are at the ends of each handle. Probably not too old either.
