Cannonball or Cannondud

Hi guys - first time on this site - and I apologize for a multiple posting as I wasnt sure which thread to use.

I found a guy selling this tbd cannonball. He claims Civil War 3in diameter and 4 lbs 5 oz. I have read many threads (including some on this site) with some very helpful info. Following the Poche and George guide to Solid Shot Essentials, I cant yet confirm the diameter and weight measurements , however I have a question about the ball's appearance. Is this dimple a mold vent sprue or something else? Thanks, Chuck
