I know what you mean. The first time I used an Explorer I thought it sounded like beginning band warming up. Once you get used to it, it sure does kick butt though.

You might want to check out one of the Fisher CZ series detectors. Great depth with only 3 or 4 tones depending on the model.

You already have it! That's why they still make the XLT. Frank

Check out the Fisher F75 SE. 40 hours on 4 AA batteries, light weight, great selection of processes and tones and definitely has depth.

Good luck!!

Dave

If ease of use is the main criteria with good performance I'd suggest Whites MXT Pro.

Some of the worst depth of I've ever seen with a machine.

I see by your posts you have only had it for about 8 weeks, how many hunts have you done with it in that time that you only used it and did not switch back to the XLT...? Maybe the problem is you.......

..... ALWAYS REVERT BACK TO MY XLT.

It takes time to learn a new detector...

Good luck ..... :icon_thumright:

the t2se has to be the deepest detector i have ever used..and simple to use

You've got a great machine, you just need to use it in the AUTO SENSITIVITY mode for a little while. If you are hunting in Manual mode, then yes you will get all kinds of instability. Your Dealer should be more than willing to help you with this. If he (or she) can't, then call me ok? The machine is fine, you just have a little learning curve to hurdle.

You can always call Kellyco and talk with one of our sales agents. Tell them where you will be detecting, what your looking for, etc. We are trained specialists on metal detectors. Let us know if we can help. (888) 535-5926

So Bridgette, what do you suggest for this new user other than calling a sales person for settings?
I'd like to hear your opinion on these settings. What would you use in a high trash situation?

No cheating either :laughing9:

My buddy is a minelab dealer and I stayed with him for a weekend a year ago, and he put the safari in my hands and I was finding coins right off the bat, it is simple to use...not sure what problem your having. I also owned a XLT a couple years ago and the safari was way simpler to use to me the very first hour I used it
