Nice bottle Dekalb. I paged through my books looking & couldnt find the name. Have collected beer bottles & cans for a while and never heard of it. Calling my grandfather (longtime beer drinker & Chicago resident) to see if he has heard of the brewery.

Got a hold of Gramps already. He has never heard of it but suspects it was very small brewery in its time. Like the micro brews available today. Also thinks it may have been a brewery shot down as many were by prohibition. Sorry couldnt be more help.

Cantwell & Ryan Eagle Brewing Co.
Was a brewing company in Chicago that was in only in existence from 1891-1893 than we had Cantwell Eagle Brewing Co. From 1893-1897.
The Chicago Worlds' Fare was from May 1893-October 1893. I'll bet Cantwell and Ryan invested in having some bottles manufactured so they could bottle their beer and enter it in the Columbian Exposition beer contest. The blue ribbon winner was a brewer by the name of Pabst. I'll bet Cantwell and Ryan split up during the fair or after they lost to Pabst and Cantwell tried to make it as Cantwell Eagle Brewing until 1897 when he was either bought out, forced out, or bankrupt out of business. There were over 160 breweries in Chicago at that time.
I have one of these bottles in perfect condition for sale.
