Cape May detecting

Is there any restriction to metal detecting in Cape May beach? I'm planning to go there soon!

You cannot hunt by the lighthouse. It is national park and strictly forbidden. You can hunt other beaches however.

Thanks for th input. I didn't know it was Uncle sam's property. I will look for upper that beach.
