Cardinal Greetings

Coming back from the market this morning a cardinal greeted me as I entered the driveway.
It’s a little distant photo with the phone but it’s said that a cardinal appears when angels are near

We had grace our feeder yesterday while we were watching.
11 different species were feeding, spring is full on.

It is said the cardinals will appear when the Pope is near. I have them throughout the winter. They really stand out in the snow or in the pines. Beautiful birds.

I like that saying. We have cardinals in Hawaii. They have a distinct tweet.

If a cardinal is the sign of an angel nearby, then my backyard might be the Pearly Gates. If you look closely, there are 13 male and female Cardinals in this picture. The 6 males are easy to see, not so much for the 7 females.

Nice pics everyone. Isn't it funny that in nature it is usually the male that is prettier or stands out more but not so with humans. Look at the Bobwhite quail and I'm sure there's more examples. Maybe just my thinking 🤔
