Carolina Interesting Find

Just came across this website and already know I'll be visiting frequently...

Anyway, I found this a couple months ago in an old farming field near a river in NC, looks like it was made of concrete? Any idea what it could be? A weight?

Any suggestions/advice is appreciated.
