Cashed in my dirty clad for something shiny! Part deux.

In case you didn't see part 1 - I cashed in a bunch of my dirty clad for a couple of American Eagle silvers. A 2010 and a 2011 to commemorate the two years I have been metal detecting. I just received the 2010 in the mail so I thought I would put up a picture of them together. Hopefully I can find enough clad soon to get a 1/10oz gold eagle!

No tumble, just made sure all the dirt was off. Usually used a strainer under the sink and just shook all the dirt off.

I know!!!! just got one of your real dirty nickels at the casino. I at least tumble the dirt off, but this nickel had all the dirt left on it... I laughed cause I knew it was found by a M D'er

So the bank took the coins?I use a coffee can with water with some gravel and shake about hand full of coins..But some are really stain and hoping I can dump them at the bank...If not time to invest in a tumbler.

Tumblers don't remove stains. Coins stay nice and dark, but they go through the counter. Zincolns with rough edges should be discarded or buried in clay pots at sites where Jason hunts.

Oh great - good thing I LOVE to dig pennies!!! Copper pennies are almost up to 3cents in melt value... I wonder if there is a better way to dispose of them now... $10 in pennies could maybe net $25 in copper.

The bank said stained coins are fine, its just the dirt they don't want going through the counter. Clean off the dirt and dump away! Hopefully you don't get an a-hole teller though.
