Picked these up for a couple dollars each. Shot in the dark, but the crucible (?) is extremely dense (3 + lbs) and so is the statue. Crucible is cast iron, maybe used for casting bullets? Can't find one like it. Seems a bit small and heavy-duty to be for cooking...

The statue is carved from some kind of stone and was obviously made with care. Not sure if it's a tourist piece or what. Any ideas?

The statue is probably soapstone & carved in Africa. No idea on the other item.

Right on. Looks pretty common. Oh well, I'll keep it.

I recently picked up a pink stone sculpture of a family group and my research was that it was from Africa as mentioned above. In terms of value you can look up the sold listings on eBay for African abstract family sculpture.

This website can give you an idea of the retail value.

Thanks Dig. That's definitely the style. No visible markings on the bottom but otherwise identical
