Ironhorse and I have been getting our digs in and these are my latest results. Last Fall unbelievable luck made it seem easy and this time around it's more of a grind, but we've had some good hunts and a couple of great ones, which isn't bad because it's not all that many weeks we've been at it. Hoping to make the last month count!

Two of my better finds in the bunch came yesterday, a 1679 Charles II Twopence, and the nice Rev War era Royal Navy button.

Catching up? That is like a lifetime of finds for me! You have such a great area you must be in. I love all of the great buttons that you post. So cool. And so many coppers. Was that a 1797 cartwheel I see in one picture? Thanks for sharing

Wow that a nice set of finds there, congrats!

Great collection of old finds! Really nice! Your soil is kind to the copper coins and brass buttons. The Royal Navy button is one of the finest dug examples I have seen shown anywhere, including the reference sites. I have found one, and it is barely recognizable as such, it is so roached out. Congrats.

Man, that's a bunch of excellent saves. A big Congrats for your finds and the pics.

You gotta be kidding me I need to see if my batteries are still working I would build a log cabin on that site wow

really nice finds

Yep catching up is the best way to describe it!
Of course I'm still shaking my head with all those great finds you've been making lately and the amount of coins you get consistently. It would be hard for some to believe but if I wasn't there as a witness to see it with my own eyes no one could believe we've dug so much in the sites we were hunting.
It's great to have some traction for the big push through our fall season!
You got some top shelf finds as usual!

Yeah now you are stealing my great buttons finds and I'm left holding the rotten coppers! :nono: It's true, if there's one thing I can't complain about it's the coins finding me... no matter what field or site I'm at. I wish I knew what I was do that is so right to make sure I keep doing it. :laughing7:

Unbefreakinlievable man !! I don't know what to say ! The Cross is an amazing find , the condition of the shilling is phenomenal - is that 1838 ? Ridiculously good finds !!

Quite the start to your fall hunting.
Can’t wait what else you dig up.

Wow! Just WOW! Awesome finds! Love the shilling! And the navy button! And the coins! And the buttons! And everything else! :icon_thumleft: Congrats!

Man, thats some good dirt you dig in..... :icon_thumright:

Both the button and coin are amazing,as well as the shilling and other finds. I have only found one shilling since I've started detecting. You seem to pull them out of the ground almost every month.
Congrats and keep them coming.

really nice assortment of finds

She great stuff here, and the two pence is just stunning.

In my mind there is little doubt that the Charles II Twopence came from a Maundy Set. As many of these were holed as it was a special gift from the King/Queen. It was still in living memory of these being as close to God as one could get, and Charles II handed these out to gain favour;
