All Treasure Hunting
As many of you heard, we all had a great day of detecting with D-Dub and TF on Monday. Unfortunately my macro doesn't work on my camera, so Dub offered his services for the price of only a beer :occasion14:

These finds are from my last two hunts. ,36-s, '43 & '17-d Mercs, 6 Buffalo nickels, '03 V-nickel, 3 Tokens, a hurdlers medallion, and a .925 Italian 26" Silver chain.

Todays hunt started out with the "V" in the first 5 minutes, expecting it to be great....nothing until the last 5 minutes when I got the '17-d Merc.

But my most exciting find is this SLQ. I was digging a dime signal and dug out a 1910 Wheatie from under a root. I stuck my probe under the root and continued to get a strong signal. Being careful as to not hurt the mysterious coin from within the roots, I saw a glimpse of a large silver edge. I used my fingers to pry the dirt, and I saw the Eagle knowing its a SLQ. I turned it over, put it in some water, and after taking it out, I can tell it had great detail, but still remained dirty. I didn't do anymore field cleaning as I didn't want to scratch it. I'm glad I took it home and cleaned it properly. Check out the detail on this thing.

Due to me moving, I don't think I will be able to get out for the next two weeks...So ET007...you have some time to catch up.
Good luck and HH!

Wow, the quarter still has mint luster. Sweet haul of coinage Jon!
Wish I had time to get out that way.

Great find! and Great job digging that out.   I guess I may be able to catch up to you too here, but unfortunately for me, it will probably be all mercs...

My last two hunts consisted of woods and parks. So a little from here and a little from there!

Truly outstanding early SLQ! Way to recover it from in between the roots without getting a scratch on that beauty. Looks like it was dropped the day after it was minted. Doesn't get much better than that!

Drooling !!!!!!!!!!!!! :tongue1::P

Wow A good day and a nice Standing Liberty. Man, put that thing in a coin folder. Like someone said it's worth at least $45 or $50 and maybe more. You don't dig SL's like that everyday.

Dittos on all those replies Jon,
great hunt!

BEAUTIFUL.........

I looked on todays finds... where's your swiss shield nickel

That is one of the most pristine SLQ's I've ever seen
recovered  . . . and your other silver ain't too bad either

What a spectacular hunt!

Great last couple of hunts, Jon. I am still in aw of your SLQ. Let's get you moved quickly so you can get back to hunting. Don't think for a minute that I am going to wait till then to get back out though.... :icon_pirat:
