Hi all
I'm more of a reader than a poster but i found this coin while hunting this week and i really dont know what it is except for a copy of something.
on the top of the coin it says ceaae on the reverse it says copy. just wanting to know what the ceaae would mean. i really couldn't find anything
anywhere. this is the first time posting pictures so I'm not sure how they will turn out

thanks for your help

i found some more about my copy coin

thanks to all that looked

This Gela tetradrachm has been the subject of more inquiries to me than any other 'coin' since I have started this site. This particular copy was produced as an advertisement for a book on Ancient Greece and was sent to thousands of addresses glued to a paper ad.

I know this is an old thread , but, I have questions.
I have two of these coins. As good condition as the one shown by Bigcypresshunter. In the link, I can't find any info on this coin. The link opens on page 6. I've looked on other pages, also and found nothing.

I know mine are copies, but, what are they made of. Is this true; "This particular copy was produced as an advertisement for a book on Ancient Greece and was sent to thousands of addresses glued to a paper ad."

Mule

edit: I guess the link did not work in my post. It is the link, and image, posted by bigcypresshunter.
