What is up T-Net friends:hello:
Got out to a monster chimney cellar i hit a while back..Tough rooty wet terrain at this site i stayed way in the back walled
sections of this site where i believe the starter cabin was..Old covered well way in the back and a square hump with iron etc..
This is an early site as it did not even make an 1855 map.The house was huge with a 8 foot wide center chimney..
First target was a
Full Colonial buckle:headbang:
Then i nabbed a KG coppa.
Tombac

An absolutely monster what i think is a Rosette..53mm and gorgeous gilt lead backed:headbang:
Convex shaped with a Tudor Rose?

Anyone know what the iron hook was with the ball on the end?

Gorgeous out there i got a late start and put in 4 hours:icon_thumleft:

Is that not a button hook? To pull round buttons through leather shoes...( turn of the century )
found these in a 1912 logging camp...image.jpg

Interesting i believe this is much older but it could be for some type of leather work..The large iron ball does fit nicely between the fingers and palm
to be used for pulling very hard without it slipping off the hand..

great looking spot, and great to get out. (I may have a chance this sat.)

Nice digs too, Nice complete buckle (hey I only want one), and rosette

Your iron ball stick thing is a bell clapper, would pretty much bet on it. A larger bell like 4 inch cow bell.

Great stuff JB

That buckle and rosette are killer

Nice dig man , im thinking the iron thing might be a bell clapper

I would love to hunt a site like that great job!!!!!!!

Blaze I have a couple of that style shoe buckle that are incredibly sturdy. That's a beauty man. I LOVE LOVE LOVE shoe buckles. They are so unique and unlike anything modern. One of my ancestors was a traveling cobbler in my area in the late 1700s. I always wonder if his hands touched one of these awesome relics. Man what a hobby this truly is

Abe pondering stuff like that really keeps me going. It helps in our search also i believe keeping the passion alive. There is a good chance he may have fitted one of those buckles.I also go crazy trying to visualize some of my Cellars in there hay day!
