Cellar Hole Relics

Well, ...I did have every intention of digging at my privy site today...but that feeling faded once I got there :laughing9:

Instead I just detected around A cellar hole at A different site. Found 2 very nice decrative pieces. One looks to be the hardware from A wall fastened oil lamp. The round one I have no clue what it was from, maybe A slide for some drapes... :icon_scratch:

Also found what I thought was a watch, upon further inspection when I got home turns out to be a cool little compass :thumbsup:

The other typical odds and ends kept me occupied with digging throughout the afternoon. The only coin for the day was A 1919 wheaty, which is odd because my last 2 wheats from different sites had the same date.

Cool Compass thingy! Looks like ya got maybe some tooled crown top, a whiskey and some fruit jar parts there. Dig baby dig!!!!!!! :thumbsup:

The compass was fried at 4inches down, the case is pretty sturdy though. It was A comfortable 79 out.
with half a can of bug spray I was able to spend the whole day there.

Cool digs. About the compass.... what is the green material the cover is made out of? I've never seen anything like that.

The compass is most likely A recent drop, maybe 60s -70s seems to be a thin leather stick-on, plastic
or some sort of felt. decrotive pleather.

I went out and made the mistake last weekend and forgot to put some spray on. I was picking ticks off me all evening and it has been about 5 days and I still find the stray tick in the truck crawling on my arm on my way to work.
