chain with odd pandant type charm with unidentifiable markings stamped in each side

i recently found this chain necklace and it appears t o be extremely tarnished and the stampings on it are off center and i cant seem to make out what they are. all i know is the pendant as well as the chain itsself doesnt stick to a magnet at all. any ideas what the markings on it might be? or how to go about trying to properly clean it so that i can see if it's worth anything? any help is appreciated.! thank you!
