I usually post or just reply to the posts concerning dug artifacts as they are the most exciting and interesting to me. One of my other big hobbies besides metal-detecting is collecting ancient artifacts. I thought I would share my newest piece that I just added today in case anyone else has a smiliar passion.

The below picture is of my newest piece, a Chancay Chucimilco Figure. The Chancay civilization were located in Peru between the 800's AD - 1300's AD. The below figure was used to keep bad spirits away from the nobles. It is dated from 1000 AD - 1200 AD.

Let me know what you think.

Sweet looking piece. Not cheap either I don't suppose.

It is worth every penny to me. I love the history behind every piece. I hope one day to either donate them all to a museum somewhere, or open up my own museum for the pieces.

I should have mentioned in the original post, all transactions i complete including ancient artifacts are completely legal.

Since we can't reply to the fake posting by the Moderator, I figured I would bring up that topic on here some more. If someone sees a posting they believe is fake, why don't they contact the person who posted the topic to begin with in private? I don't really see too many postings that I question at all on here.

THAT is a Beautiful piece!!!
I love pieces Stone and terra cotta pieces, but all of mine
are replicas.
Congratulations!!!

Thanks...

I really enjoy purchasing pieces such as this one. Each one hold a thousand years of history.

It is hard to find reputible dealers to purchase artifacts from. I have found three that I will purchase from, but only one of them I work with quite often. After you have purchased several pieces, you can use techniques learned from others on how to tell if you are buying a fake. Also, purchasing terms is important in the transaction. Also, use references from others, especially professionals in the area of Pre-Columbian Civilizations.

Over the years, Hank and Mary Ann Johnson have given me a lot of help with Pre-Columbian and other artifacts:
