Since I had the computer housing replaced by the manufacturer on my Minelab Manticore, I've been extremely faithful in rinsing off any saltwater that may have washed onto the charging area of my detector when leaving the beach. But after only a few months, it's been increasingly difficult to get the green light to appear when attaching my magnetic charging cable to the detector. Now, I have to adjust, adjust, adjust, sometimes for several minutes before I see a blinking green light. So, I'm assuming that merely rinsing off any residual saltwater from the charging area isn't sufficient to keep this from happening?

Any suggestions?

Have you also replaced the charging cable / charger as well?
A new one could fix the issue.

A common problem with the Minelabs to including the Manticore and Equinox series. Use a pencil eraser or light OOOO steel wool and clean the battery charging contacts on the back of your machine. Then wipe them clean with some CRC or WD-40. Next, inspect the contacts on the charging cable. Make sure they are clean. The magnets on these cables will grab all kinds of magnetic debris, sand, etc.. If you are a beach hunter, I guarantee you will have some black magnetic sand stuck your magnets. I use a nylon brush and a Q-Tip to clean the contacts. Those magnets on the charging cable, if dirty, will keep your machine from receiving a positive contact resulting in poor charging. I'm an avid beach hunter fight this problem all the time.
