Had a few hours to kill today so after a hardy rain last night thought id swing by the new V.H for a little while , scored a nice bell a wooden button a broach and piece not sure what it is but its plated with gold and while I was walking I stop for a brief moment and was surveying the ground and noticed something odd ,so I picked it up and it turned out to be a really really old dice .. very unique find !

Nice find. who do you figure was rolling that dice back in the day?

hand made? odd that it's not square.... or is it broken?

It has all the numbers on it , but very odd shape , numbered 1 through 6 on it ...

Did you check it with your detector Bud? Lots of lead ones as well as bone used in CW period. i have always heard that CW Soldiers discarded dice before a battle fearing they would be found in their clothes or effects if they were killed. They didn't want their mothers to know they were gambling. Nana 40 found a lead one a year or so ago. I guess they cared what Momma thought back then too. Pics look good on the smooth background. Next time you dig something you want to submit to a magazine, it will be mag. ready. Good digs and HH, Quindy.

Really odd dice, never seen a rectangle shape one........Cool finds for sure.............HH

nice finds.. dice have always been on my wish list.
