Just bought these at a local garage sale. One is identified by an affixed tag as Cheshire Heavy Silverplate. The other is stamped Oneida Silvermsiths. I suspect the Oneida piece may be sterling. It is quite heavy for its size.

Interested in whether I made out or got made. Paid US 50 cents for the (shallow bowl, candle holder?) silverplate dish and $3 for the Oneida (candy?) dish.

The are both plated. Oneida never made sterling.. Wm Rogers is Oneida's old name. Wm rogers is always silverplate. For the most part a piece that is sterling, would be marked sterling. Or have a hallmark.

I bought 12 pieces of Oneida Heirloom Sterling at a garage sale for $8, total. On the back of the pattern, "Heirloom Sterling and Flowers Lane" is on the back side. When I checked, Oneida had sterling flat ware.
