Chico's Wheat field produces wheats & ?Colonial Button?
Howdie Hoo,
The wife and I hit our friendly local neighborhood wheat field today. The best part thus far is that I don't have to drive there. Anyway after contemplating cold beer or treasure huntin we drank a couple of beers (good ones at that) and decided to hunt.
My recent acquisition of a county map from 1870 confirmed that a residence was in fact in the wheat field. Also the old timer who lives by the field gave us many clues as to where he believed the old home once stood due to his past finds.
The land has history. Colonial history. Once owned by our third President then sold to an Italian wine maker named Phillipe Mazzi. Then some was cut off and sold to individuals but most of the original Mazzi estate remains with one owner who still makes wine.
Well after two trash pieces...Bang X 5 in less than 10 minutes. Wheat, wheat, wheat, wheat & wheat. So much wheat you could make bread if ya had yeast, but that was in the beer and had since ferminted to make a tasty malty Oktoberfest beverage for me in my prehunt game.
So, the wheat's are all commons(40's) and I gotta get the daschund in the field to sniff out the silva! I know it will soon come in due time. Chilled weather is the best, fewer snakes, poison ivy dissipates and foliage recesses.
After the wheat streak I hit a vdi 28 and got the button at 7 inches. It appears to be old. The only word I can make out is London. It appears to be about the size of a us quarter.
Some of you x-perts will do me dandy in servin' up the info...Thanks in advance for that.
Enjoy the fall.
