we have found about three of these, maybe four, this one is broke
i have another that has a broke handle
they are most likely childs toys but we may never know for sure
another fact that throws me off wondering is the 'rasp'(?) on the handle
some talk of a pottery tool usually gets shot down cuz of the small size

hey thanks i am open and appreciative to any ideas......one thing i can say is i don't mean to disagree but these are all solid bone and not fragile at all...i am thinking it may have been broke by farm equipment things like this can maybe never get figured out larson1951

Larson is it missing any pieces on the other side of the "comb", the other side of it?

yup the other side is the same but broke off

The handle is definitely short. I will make a wild guess that it is for a baby to chew on when teething.

So obviously the thing dont line up with any of your pottery designs.its definetly cool.It had some important function cuz its sure well made.

the toy and pottery thing keep coming in my head mainejman and gator but i think the hands could have worked the coils toghter maybe faster
but i think if it is not a toy it might be pottery related
but then again all ideas posted are welcome and make me think?
