found some chinese coins my 2 lock and a pretty cool knife

Now thinking about it I dont think I have dug one in a site past the middle 1860's....but I dont hunt anything later!

Some cool stuff
I think Kuger's right about the locks. Most I've found have been in mid 1800's and earlier sites. Another guy and I were talking one day about finding so many in civil war camps and what they could have been used for. I got a book for
Christmas and in the book is a picture of a civil war mess tent and outside the tent are wooden barrels, at least one has an iron strap across the top held by one of those big locks.
I was wondering what they could have been used for they dont seem that strong Thanks for the info
