Scrounger, I'm with you on the avacado's. I slice them up and put them on sandwiches, salads etc. and my wife makes a mean avacado dip. Funny thing is I could never stand them until I moved here. Although here, we buy them at the farmers market and in Virginia, well, who knows, they were probably picked so green they could never ripen properly.
AVACADO'S MMMMMMMM

Carrots/avacados,yuck! And if you think that's bad,I haven't eaten chicken since just before Korea ended in early '53.The USAF turned me off it.I love turkey but can't stand the thought of chicken.Ate plenty of it as a kid,but no more.Speaking of the USAF,what's the oldest usaf plane any of you vets have flowen on?The first plane I worked on was the B-29.Never flew on one as they were transitioning to the B-47.Lots of hrs in them.I flew on a B-25,sat where the nose gunner use to sit. That was cool. The oldest,I guess,I want to say it was a C-45 or 145?It was the little twin tail that they use to use as a mail plane in the late '30's.Guess I got about 2000 hrs in my 8yrs on the B-47,B-52 KC-135.Yep,I was in SAC from day one,one of Gen Curtis E.LeMay's guys, nobody fooled with us in those days. When I went in at 17,I wanted to be a pilot in the worst way.Passed and qualified in everything EXCEPT color test!I passed the colored lights and the colored yarn, but those polka-dot cards,I couldn't see nothing on.About 2yrs later I had a pilot ask me why I didn't go to flight school as much as I loved it(he use to let me take the controls of a B-47,now and then)and when I told him,he said he was the same way and a eye dr friend of his gave him a set of those cards which he memorized and said he would give them to me if I would go.I declined, and several times since I've regretted that decision of mine. How in heck did I get to this BS from carrots and avacados?Let me outta here-----

Love carrots, still have lousy eyesight. Got to fly the old Army L-19 on a # of occasions but couldn't get my license on account of double vision. It allows me to find twice as many goodies but also twice the trash. LOL

B-17 - that would have been awesome.A great aircraft! Helecopter? No way! Those things are unsanitary looking, don't even look like a plane that would fly.

You gotta try it at least once WSD, they don't fly they beat the air into submission  :tongue3: Best part of all is they don't need a runway either. Which helped me a few times when I had to park it and let them come get it

I tried it once, not of my own free will,it had something to do with my heart after a clot tore it up back in '95 in TX.When they said they were using the helo to transport me to SA,I told them gettin' on one of those would give me a heart attack. They said,"really?" and I felt a needle. Was already in the air when I came to.It was a smoothe ride,I admit.Of course I was stark naked and a young female nurse was holding everything for me.Yeah,it was some ride.

Allright! Which one of youse from down south did it? Yesterday they captured a 6ft aligator out of the harbor right behind the downtown area here in Warsaw! It could not have entered any stream or river and got to this area because of the dam.Now with all the high waters,it may have been possible to come across some flooded fields to this river, but not so far up north here.Of course no one knows how long it may have been here, either.Big Warsaw Mystery?????
