Engagement ring, stone cut out, odd hallmark.
gotta be gold, came from salt mud as shiny as you see it here.
Woman hated the ring, but kept the stone? Who knows, at around $1260 an ounce,
I'll take what I can get.

Like I said in OP, Woman gets ring, Woman Decides He's not the right Man, Hates the ring, but doesn't want to give up the stone.......
I find mysteries all the time.

Back in the day they would cut the ring to get it off the finger of the dead after they died and got bloated. I have found a few this way look it up.

Sorry , but if i was going to cut a gold ring off a Cadaver!!!! I would only make 1 cut not 2!!! the thought of touching the person would haunt me for life!!!

Not at all, At one time I aquired a notebook from a State Police Barracks that We were gutting, it was full of 'Death scene' photos, charred in vehicles, overdoses, suicides, the whole schlemeel, the worst were drowning victims.
most were so bloated they no longer looked human,
the images come to mind as clear as if it were yesterday.
My house burned to the ground shortly thereafter ?
Kudos to you Chug for these Noble efforts!

Something seen cannot be unseen. And it all get's stored right there in our big ole memory banks - one word or thought and the image is there.
