Christmas morning I was fortunate enough to get to a local park in my area for a 2hr. hunt. I’ve detected this naturalized park on and off for the past 2 years. I say ‘naturalized’ because there is only a walking path and no playground equipment, so no kids and very little in the way of trash. I noticed an old trail that is merely a depression in the ground now, which I feel was likely used by people walking to work at a nearby senior’s residence from the bus stop. After going slowly up and down each side I started finding older pennies, then one silver after another.

Unfortunately, after finding my third silver in 30mins, my wife called me telling me, “that I had to come home right away”. You see we gave my 13-year-old daughter a ‘Penny Board’ skateboard for Christmas and she had taken a fall and my wife felt that she should go to the hospital for an x-ray on her hip. When I got home, I quickly realized that she was fine and it was only a bad bruise to her butt and her ego! :laughing7:

Thanks for looking,
Dave

Nice to see you found some silver to brighten your Christmas.
Congrats!

Weather was great for detecting, but I didn't make it out.
Have to get out this weekend, we may get s-n-o-w Tuesday.

Congrats on the silver.

Better to be safe than sorry. Glad she is ok. Nice saves! Nice to see our neighbor getting in on the fun!
Merry Christmas!

Glad your daughter is OK Dave and that you were able to get out and enjoy the day. Finding silver goes a long way in helping the enjoyment too!

Thanks for your post Brian and for your concern about my daughter!

Thanks very much Scrappy, it's nice to still be detecting in December! :laughing7:

Thanks very much bud!

Thanks as always for your post MsBB!

Funny, because I've only found 6 silvers all year, this makes 9 for the year.
That's what happens when you primarily detect farm fields! :laughing7:

Hope you have a great holiday with your family,
Dave

Congrats on the silver.

Thanks very much CK... hey those are my wife's initials! :laughing7:

Merry Christmas!

Thanks for your concern about our daughter detectahead, my worry was that we were going to be spending Christmas Day in the Emergency Ward! :laughing7:

Best of luck to you in NC,
Dave

Thanks very much Dave, just has a good size bruise to her ego! :laughing7:

Funny, because I went back again yesterday for 2hrs hoping to pick up where I left off and found nothing! :dontknow:

Hope you're able to get in more detecting before the freeze up Dave!

Nice getting the three silver using the old magic stick.:) Glad to hear that it was only a bruise and ego as it's never a good thing to get a call to go home because of an injury.

Thanks for your post Jim, yup, the AT Pro still finds the silver and the pennies!

Glad to hear you got the tamper running, I wasn't looking forward to making a service call at your place! :laughing7:
Dave

My phone stays in the van and everyone knows it. I check during breaks. Glad to hear your daughter is alright and no hospital needed. That park will provide many hunts when permissions are not available.

I'm glad you daughter is ok too!
Were you joining the Vino bandwagon to switch from researched historic sites to the public (gold mines) parks? Just kidding, love the pix as usual, at least you can go back and pick up where you left off finding silvers!
Good luck when you get back!

Actually I was hoping that the generous loan came with on site training so I could sneak off to detect.:tongue3:
Did you know tampers dealing with wet gravel/soils/steep inclined lane ways/and darkness don't get along well, :laughing7:.
Thanks again for the machine buddy, it made my life a lot better, and put a smile on the Mrs as I'm getting it done.
