This button was found by a friend of mine in SW Pennsylvania along a road cut by the British during the French and Indian War. I know there were French Marines from Canada in SW PA during French & Indian War, but this button was found about 30 miles east of where I would expect to be the easternmost penetration of the French.

Very similar, but the back is not right for either type. I've seen early English buttons which I thought for sure were French Marines, but then when I seen the back, like that one, they were clearly not.

Yours is not a button, but a circa 18th C horse harness decoration.

Which one are you talking about Cru? First one or second?
