Just days after procuring a $326 billion bailout and $20 billion capital injection from the federal government, just a week after divulging its intention to lay off 52,000 workers, Citigroup is publicly confirming and remaining steadfast in its plan to pay $400 million for naming rights to the New York Mets' new baseball stadium.

Perhaps I'm biased because I'm a lifelong fan of the Philadelphia Phillies, but I sure as heck do not want my money spent on a giant sign at a Major League Baseball park, and if I were one of the 52,000 Citigroup employees facing a rougher 2009, I'd be absolutely livid.

This is what is wrong with all the Bailout programs. The top people are NOT held accountable for their actions.

I say no more bailout money for crap like this.

To date, I've only seen it mentioned once that a ceo of a failing corporation put his own salary on hold.

I'm a Mets fan - and I don't want to see them spend OUR money on that crap, either.

I caught a partial news report today about some corporation that wasn't going to give a bonus or raise in salary to their high execs until 2010.

Well, there's one. (I didn't catch who the company was)

Also, some talking heads suggesting that if we bail out the auto industry, that they have to guarantee they buy all their parts from America.

What I heard one auto exec say was that they would consider not sending any more jobs overseas - ---

Well, personally - if they cannot use American parts with American workers, they can do without American money.

Actually, if you total the bailouts you get 8-trillion dollars in bailout monies. Yes I said trillion.

8 trillion is a drop in the bucket.

But it will pay for quite a few electric gates and security guards for a while.

What more would they ask for?

They could ask for total enslavement of Americans? But I don't think they have to ask for that. You can't ask for things you already have right?
