Well this morning went to one of the fields I have hunted in the past. I have hit this field hard so I needed to dig everything. Targets were scarce, only found this button and a small musket ball. This is the field I found the WHIGS political button not to long ago. You never know what you will find! I will add that I know of no Civil war activity anywhere around here. Strange?

Sure looks like the era for sure. It was maybe brought home by a vet and lost later. I find a lot at old cellar holes 100 miles from the nearest battle.

I agree. no doubt veterans wore their service clothing for some time after the war.
