Civil war buckle? Looks like there was a wreath on it and possible letters. Has pins coming through. Each piece has # 83 on it.

Not bad, did you find it at a cellar hole?
Found at 1740 house. With cellar hole in back yard. Found a1785 CT copper graded at VF 35 new Jersey copper vg 10 1771 machine's mills kg3 1921d mercury au55 and found over 40 silver coins. And lots of relics.

I believe this could very well be a Masonic temple buckle...the designation level would
be interchangeable on the front. Nice find...i would definitely search the area well for that
missing piece...awesome. dz

I found this piece near a civil war trench in Greeneville TN, has 609 stamped on it. Guess I need to go back and find the rest of it

My two pieces were about 30 feet apart. I wish the center wreath was still attached. Good luck finding the rest.
