Today I was out swinging in my new hugh back yard. There's a brook that runs in the very end of the field. I got a signal next to a big tree and dug down into very moist soil about 4-5in. Found what looks like a civil war bullet to me from the pics I've seen. I had to go to work a few minutes after finding it so I don't have a picture up yet. Tommarrow I'll post a pic in the wat-zit forum. It's white and although small has some weight to it. I've seen that civil war bullets have the three rings at the bottom but this one is smooth. I don't know much about the civil war and was hoping some of the history buffs on here could shed some light. Did the civil war have any battles in Southern Vermont? Could a civil war bullet even be here? Also, did they use bullets like these in 1791? Any help would be great, thanks in advance.
