Welcome to the Treasure Net,
This is a great seal army button made after 1902 some time. The civil war was in the 1860s. The markings on the back would help date it.

Thanks Jim, I found this Button in a field where the Battle of Stones River was fought at a depth of 6 inches. I guess that is why I could not find anything about it, I was looking in the wrong places for the info. The back of it is to corroded to see anything on it. Anyway, I sure am glad to know when the Civil war was! Never to old to learn something new.
