Civil War carved lead, eagle "I" button, bayonet tip, other odds and ends.

I was able to spend the last two days on a new permission with civil war significance. I was told by the owner that many have detected and it would be "slim pickens". I found the obvious bullets, mostly button backs, two flat buttons, two general service coat buttons, an eagle "I", bayonet tip, and the carved lead was a great find. The guy I detected with found five carved pieces and an 1839 half dime in a concentrated area. If anyone has an idea of the two brass relics and spout piece I would like to know. The piece seems to be pewter. Thanks!

One of the brass items is part of a trigger guard. Looks to be off an Enfield rifle. Here is what a complete one looks like

Awesome finds. I'd hardly call that slim pickens. It's always so gratifying to pull even some modest targets when an owner says it's hunted out. You dug some spectacular ones

Thanks. The curved piece seemed like a guard to me, but the guy I was hunting with thought it looked like a small spur.

Judging from the number of pieces of carved lead, I would say you definitely have a campsite there. I would certainly invest more time there while under that same permission. Lots more potential there, for sure.

Good variety of finds. Looks like a trigger guard and a knap sack hook. Keep digging, good spot.
