I went back to the grove where I found the Civil War veteran's medal (see post below). I have been hunting it hoping to find the missing hanger from the medal. I have already been rewarded with an Indiana button from the Civil War time period and tonight I got silver. I hit a loud, confused signal and dug a 1953 nickel at about six inches. I had returned the dirt to the hole and rolled the plug back over when I ran the coil over the hole. The CZ rang out a great signal. I pulled the dirt back out, dug down another four inches and the signal was out of the hole. The probe helped me find my second silver dime since recovering the medal. This one was an 1895 0, hidden neatly under the nickel. I hope to get back to the grove tomorrow.

HH, Don

Nice find

1895-O is a fairly desireable coin, and should fetch quite a few $$

Be very careful with any additional cleaning efforts.

Re: Civil War Medal Grove Gives Up A Barber, I love those O mint marks (Thanks)

Wow, Dc, thanks for the heads up. I always love finding "O" marks and now I know why. I know all of us have heard, "check your holes after you recover something" but this makes a believer out of me. This coin has potential to be a real money maker.

Thanks, Don
