Recovered this from a Civil War battery- cast copper...any ideas?

Could it be some sort of copper fuse adapter for a Borman fuse?

Other than its copper composition it is nearly identical to many cast in place Plumbing flange/seals I've had the pleasure of recovering, these appear to remain long after iron pipe and fixture have rusted away

It's surprisingly heavy, have dug cannon fuses nearby. Candlestick is a good guess but seems to wide
