It's a really good book.. And my dads confederate buckle is in this book that he dug in 1970s in South Carolina... Sure was easier to find stuff back then.

Sure was, read a story about everyone picking rifles off the ground and even stealing from the dead soldiers right after the war... Some days in the right spots you can still find bullets on top of the ground after a rain.

Not sure if this one fits But can give estimated date of any COLT Serial Number back to 1860 ---- Will show repeats of numbers used on different models but will associate with a model # and Year of manufacture ------- So if you enter the number 200, It will show you all models that carried that number and the year of manufacture --- for the CW ones its alot cheaper than a $300.00 verification Letter Colt Firearm Serial Number Lookup - Year of Manufacture
