Civil War relics, what are they? Solved: Tent rope tighteners

These were mixed in with a patch of CW bullets I dug up so I'm pretty sure they are CW also. They look to be made of brass. Any info would be appreciated, and why are there 2 different sizes? Thanks, Tom Bigbee

They look like tent stakes. They would be used to hold a tent down.

They are used to tighten Tent ropes.

I have found a few of them at a Spanish/American war camp site. Evidently they were in use for quite some time.
