For the last 15 years, I've pitched almost every dime and quarter of pocket-change into a gallon wine bottle. In fact I've filled 3. I'm estimating about $850 worth.

Couple days ago, my wife suggested I sale all her old gold jewelry she doesn't wear, and I told her the gold will likely only increase in value- which got me thinking. This clad coinage is losing its value every day!

I'm blessed enough that I could drop every bit into the local casino slots and never miss it, so here's the question.

What do y'all think I should "invest" this $ in that will retain its value? I Thank God I don't NEED the money to pay the bills. Also, I don't need any new toys- except a pinpointer.:laughing7:

Keep the pure copper each cent is worth two. So every dollar doubles if.... they do away with the cent.

Play the slots!! i love the casino, when I first started going to the casino they used to pay out quarters or nickels at the machines. I used to be able to find all kinds of coins but now they just print out a slip.

Might be more than $850. We just cashed in our change, no pennies, 3 1/2 clear plastic pretzel jugs. $ 2.300. !! surprised me, took about 3 years to collect it. good luck.

I would opine that you invest in a Series I-bond. This bond gives you a small rate of return plus and inflation-indexed return. You'll make more than a savings account or CD and your money will keep up with inflation on top of that. Investing in a diverse series of mutual funds is by far the best investment you can make if you are looking for a long-term investment.

I cashed in 114 pounds of mixed coins from my closet and got $1748. Invested in Apple stock @$78/share. 8-)
I would consider cashing in and buying silver right now.

I have a large jar of just one coin, quarters, dimes whatever. My son and I weighed a full roll of the coin and then weighed the jar to get an idea of how much we have. You may surprised!

That's a lot of change lol
