🥇 BANNER Class of 1878-79 tag ...wow

[Stoneworx]

I went to a home site that has been producing 1700 to late 1800s relics. I dug two eagle I buttons, two thimbles, a couple flat buttons and this tag that says scholarship miss lizzie wilson class of 1878-79. At first i thought it was a CW id tag. It's still very cool. Thanks for looking.

Thanks! No cleaning besides rubbing dirt off. I assume its silver.

You are probably right. Silver. Would be interested to see if you can track down a family. Awesome piece of history if you can. SWEET

Here is a facebook page of a Lizzie Wilson born in 1860. In 1878 she would have been 18. She was a star of some kind. Any possibility of a connection?

18 would have been graduating age possibly.

Wow. A super nice find. I think with a name and date inscribed like this it deserves BANNER. Congrats.

Every day I go through this Forum, I am often "Wowed", What a great find.

Excellent find
Assuming it was an award from a school graduation, I wonder if you can find yearbooks from area schools that were in existence in 1878.
The research begins,, Congrats

I just love your find. Its so personal. It was certainly a big loss for someone a long time ago.
