Clay/Stone Bowl or Scoop With Face On Handle

Hi. I have a scoop type tool with a handle that has a face carved in it. It is 7 1/4 inches long and 5 inches wide. I have no idea where it originated from or how old it is. What I'd love to know is region and if it's a legit piece. If you can lend any information on this piece or guide me to somewhere that can, it would be appreciated. Thank you for reading this.
