clean tokens?

do you think it is a good idea to clean old aluminum trade tokens and if so how would you clean them? Thanks, JJ

Depends on the value.. Aluminum mag and wheel polish works pretty well without pitting of some of the chemical strippers..

Would you risk taking off patina from a more valuable token to make it shiny or leave as is? Would cleaning drop the value?

Not if extremely valuable.. But even most rare ones are under $20..
