Did a little work on my baggage tag its looking better, but I have been trying to figure out the makers mark and was wondering if anyone here knows some info on baggage tag makers for Mo Pac. This was a local tag meaning the baggage was not to transfer off train to another. This tag is probably mid to late 1800's from what I found out so far, but I would really apreciate any help. Thanks and keep on diggin. JYD

What is the maker's mark? (Small lettering on the bail above the slot.)

Maybe "Poole Bros., Chicago"?

If so, the tag dates from the late 1800's to early 1900's and is worth around $75-100.

More valuable than most of the coins most of us usually dig. I like baggage tags--but I've never managed to get my searchcoil over one.

Nice work!

No help here but that sure is nice.

Nice tag. If I had to throw out a guess, I'd say it had something to do with the Missouri-Pacific Railway (Mo Pac Ry).

Don't even know if there ever WAS such a thing. Just a guess.
